Make (formerly Integromat) is a no-code automation platform that you can use to qualify referrals automatically based on events in almost any tool. Referral Factory has a native Make module with a dedicated Qualify Referred Users action — no HTTP requests needed.
This is the recommended approach if you do not use HubSpot, Salesforce, Stripe, or Intercom, or if your qualification trigger lives in a tool that doesn't have a native Referral Factory integration.

How it works

You build a scenario in Make with two modules:
1. Trigger module — watches your system for a conversion event (e.g. new Stripe payment, new row in Airtable, deal closed in your CRM)
2. Referral Factory action module — uses the Qualify Referred Users action to mark the matching lead as qualified

Setting it up

1. Go to make.com and click Create a new scenario
2. Add a trigger module for your conversion event source (e.g. "Watch Payments" in Stripe, "Watch Rows" in Google Sheets, "Watch Deals" in HubSpot)
3. Click + and search for Referral Factory
4. Select the Qualify Referred Users action
5. Connect your Referral Factory account using your API Key when prompted
6. Map the lead identifier (email address or referral code) from your trigger module to the Referral Factory qualification field
7. Select the correct campaign
8. Click Run once to test — confirm the lead is marked as qualified in Referral Factory
9. Activate the scenario
You can find your API Key on the Promote page → Custom API Dashboard card (the API Integration panel). See Where to find your Campaign ID and API Key.

Example workflows

Qualify on Stripe payment:
Trigger: Watch Payments in Stripe → Action: Qualify Referred Users in Referral Factory (map customer email)
Qualify on CRM deal close:
Trigger: Watch Deals in HubSpot (filter: status = "Won") → Action: Qualify Referred Users in Referral Factory (map contact email)
Qualify on form submission:
Trigger: Watch Responses in Typeform → Action: Qualify Referred Users in Referral Factory (map respondent email)
Qualify on e-commerce purchase:
Trigger: Watch Orders in WooCommerce or Shopify → Action: Qualify Referred Users in Referral Factory (map customer email)

Advanced: using Make an API Call

For qualification scenarios not covered by the native module, you can use the Make an API Call action to call the Referral Factory API directly. This gives you full flexibility over the request payload and endpoint.
