By default, every referral link uses a Referral Factory subdomain in the format:
[yourbusiness].referral-factory.com/[referral-code]
On the Pro plan and above, you can replace this with your own custom domain, so referral links look like:
refer.yourdomain.com/[referral-code]

What to know before setting this up

  • One custom domain per account — not per campaign. All campaigns under your account share the same custom domain.
  • Different domains per campaign are not possible without creating a separate account.
  • Custom domain setup is done in Campaign Settings (in the left sidebar under Campaign Settings) — not in the Referral Link Page editor itself.
  • The "Powered by Referral Factory" branding in the footer is removed automatically when a custom domain is active, or on the Pro plan regardless.

How to connect your custom domain

1. Click your name in the bottom-left corner of the sidebar
2. Select Organisation
3. Click the Domain and Security tab
4. Under Own Domain, enter your subdomain in the Custom Domain field (e.g. referrals.yourdomain.com)
5. Referral Factory will show a Domain Verification Required banner with the DNS record you need to add
6. Add a CNAME record in your DNS settings:
7. Save your DNS changes and wait for propagation
  • Host/Name: your subdomain (e.g. referrals.yourdomain.com)
  • Value/Points to: redirect.referral-factory.com
  • TTL: Auto / 3600 (or default)

Important: use a subdomain, not your root domain

A very common error is entering your homepage domain (e.g. yourdomain.com) instead of a subdomain (e.g. refer.yourdomain.com). The setup screen recommends using a subdomain. Using a root domain will not work.

Authorized Domains

Below the custom domain section on the same Domain and Security tab, you will find Authorized Domains. This controls which domains are allowed to embed your campaigns (for example, via the website widget or pop-up).
  • If you leave this blank, your campaigns can be embedded on any domain.
  • To restrict embedding, add the specific domains you want to allow (e.g. example.com or www.example.com).
  • Type the domain name without https:// and click Add.
