FAQ: Why doesn't the referral link go straight to my website?

This is intentional — and it's actually what makes Referral Factory more effective than most referral tools.
When a referrer shares their link, it opens a personalised Referral Link Page first. The lead sees the referrer's name, your branding, and the offer — and submits a short form before being taken to your website.

The three reasons this approach works better

1. You capture the lead even if they don't convert immediately.
If the link went straight to your homepage and the visitor left without signing up, they'd be gone with no trace. The landing page captures their name and email the moment they express interest. You have that contact regardless of what happens next.
2. You don't need tracking scripts or cookies.
Because every lead enters through a unique referral page, the system knows who referred who automatically — no pixels, no third-party cookies, no cross-device attribution problems. This is more reliable than cookie-based tracking, which breaks in Safari, across devices, and with ad blockers.
3. Personalised pages convert better.
A page that says "Your friend Sam thinks you'd love this" converts at a higher rate than a generic homepage. The referral context stays front and centre throughout the experience.

Can I redirect immediately after the form?

Yes. In Step 2 of the Referral Link Page editor, you can choose to redirect the lead to any URL as soon as they submit the form — including back to your own website or sign-up page. You can also pass their details as URL parameters so they don't have to re-enter anything.
This gives you the best of both worlds: you capture the lead's details, and they land on your site without any friction.
