Referral Factory does not have a built-in automatic delay setting between qualification and reward issuance. However, achieving a delay is straightforward because rewards do not auto-issue by default.

How it works

By default, when a referral qualifies, the reward moves to the Due Rewards tab and waits there for you to issue it manually. This is the recommended setup for most businesses — it gives you a window to handle refunds, chargebacks, or cancellations before a reward goes out.
A typical approach might be: qualify when payment is received, but only manually issue the reward 30 or 60 days later by leaving it in the Due Rewards tab until your delay period has passed.

How to set this up

With Auto Issue off, qualified referrals will appear in the Due Rewards tab but will not be paid out until you manually click Issue Now. Simply wait until your desired delay period has passed before issuing.
  • Go to Rewards in the left sidebar and click Manage Rewards
  • Edit your reward (or create a new one)
  • In Step 3 of the reward setup, make sure Auto Issue Rewards is toggled off (this is the default)
  • Save/Activate the reward

Why we recommend this approach

Manual review is your best protection against paying out on fraudulent or erroneous referrals. By keeping Auto Issue off, you get both a built-in delay and the opportunity to review each reward before it goes out.
If you'd prefer rewards to go out automatically without any delay, see FAQ: Why are my rewards showing as Due instead of issuing automatically? for instructions on enabling Auto Issue.
