Referral Factory uses email address as the unique identifier for leads within a campaign. If someone submits the referral form a second time using the same email address, the system will recognise the duplicate.
The existing lead record is retained and the duplicate submission is skipped. The original referrer attribution is preserved.
This means a lead cannot accidentally be counted twice, and a referrer cannot inflate their referral count by submitting multiple times with the same email.
