Qualification is the step where you confirm a referral has converted — for example, the referred person made a purchase or signed a contract. Referrals can be qualified manually or automatically. For a full comparison of all methods, see The 6 ways to qualify leads in Referral Factory.

Manual qualification

The referral status will update and, if a reward is configured, the reward will move to the Due tab (or issue automatically if Auto Issue is enabled).
  • Go to your campaign's Referrers tab
  • Find the relevant referrer and click the three dots on the far right of their row
  • Select "Qualify (If converted)"

Automatic qualification via CRM

If you've connected a CRM (HubSpot, Salesforce, Pipedrive), scroll to the bottom of your integration settings to find the Qualify Referrals section. Select the deal stage or pipeline event that should trigger automatic qualification.

Automatic qualification via webhook

Use the inbound qualification webhook to trigger qualification from any external system. This is useful when your conversion event happens in a tool that isn't directly integrated with Referral Factory — for example, a custom CRM or e-commerce platform.
