Overview

If someone uses an email address that is already registered as a referrer in that campaign, Referral Factory does not create another person. The form shows an error like This email is already registered. Please log in.
This happens because email is the unique identifier within a campaign.
Referral form message stating that an email address is already registered
A person cannot register again in the same campaign with the same email address.

What if they use another email address?

Someone using a different email address may not be identified automatically as a self-referral. If something looks suspicious, review the referral's qualification, source, timing, IP information, and reward record.
An IP match is a review signal, not automatic proof of fraud.
To reduce this risk before it occurs, follow How Can I Prevent Self-Referrals? and review the broader fraud controls.
