How to create and use a branded referral portal

The Branded Referrer Portal is a standalone page hosted by Referral Factory where anyone can sign up as referrers, access their unique referral link, submit.

Read this page as a quick path: scan the headings, use the step blocks, and escalate if the expected result does not happen.
The Branded Referrer Portal is a standalone page hosted by Referral Factory where anyone can sign up as referrers, access their unique referral link, submit leads, and/or track their performance.
It is the fastest way to get a referral program live without embedding anything in your website. Just send customers a link to the portal and they can self-enrol.

Accessing the portal builder

There are two ways to open the portal builder:
Branded Referrer Portal preview panel showing the 3-step flow (Sign up, Share link, Track & earn)

  • From the Promote page — Click the Branded Referrer Portal card. This opens a preview panel showing a 3-step overview of the referrer experience (Sign up → Share link → Track & earn). Click Set Up Your Portal to open the full builder.
  • From the sidebar — Go to Onboard Referrers → Branded Referrer Portal in the left sidebar. If you don't see it in the sidebar, you can enable it from the Promote page using the eye icon on the Branded Referrer Portal card.

The builder interface

The portal builder has the same drag-and-drop interface as the Referral Link Page editor. It is divided into:
At the top of the builder you will see:
  • The canvas (left) — a live preview of your portal page
  • The right panel — with two tabs: Design (global styling) and Add Blocks (drag-and-drop content blocks)
  • Portal URL — your portal's live URL ending in “/signup” with a Copy button. This is the link to share if you want referrers to be able to sign up for a referral link.
  • Connect Own Domain — link your own domain (e.g. refer.yourbrand.com) to replace the default Referral Factory URL (available on Pro plans and above)
  • External link icon — open the portal in a new tab to preview it
  • QR Code icon — generate a downloadable QR code for the portal (see below)
  • Settings gear — open Referrer Portal Settings (see below)
  • Two tabs: Page Builder (default drag-and-drop editor) and Upload your own HTML pages (Enterprise only)
  • Device preview icons — switch between Desktop, Tablet, and Mobile views
  • Three page tabs: Sign Up, Login, and Dashboard — each is a separate page you can design independently

The three portal pages

The portal is made up of three pages, each accessible via tabs at the top of the canvas. Click a tab to switch to that page and customise it.

Sign Up page

The sign-up page is where new referrers register to join your program.
Allow sign up toggle — At the top of the canvas you will see an Allow sign up checkbox. When enabled, visitors can register directly on the portal. If you only want your existing customers to refer and want to automatically generate their referral links for them, you can still use the branded referral portal by disabling sign up.
The default sign-up page includes:
You can customise all of this using the block editor. The Sign Up page has access to Form Field blocks (see below) that are not available on the other pages.
