FAQ: How can referrers submit their friend's details directly?

Sometimes referrers want to refer someone who isn’t going to sign up themselves — for example, a trade customer who wants to pass on a friend’s contact details, or a real estate agent referring a buyer on behalf of a vendor. In these cases, the referrer wants to submit the lead’s information directly rather than just sharing a link and waiting.

The answer: the lead submission form

Referral Factory includes a lead submission form that allows referrers to enter a friend's details directly from their referral portal. When submitted, the friend's details appear in your Leads tab just as if the friend had signed up themselves.
This is particularly useful for:
  • B2B programs where referrers are partners or agents who control introductions
  • Real estate, finance, or insurance where the referrer is facilitating a connection rather than sharing a link
  • Any program where the referred person is unlikely to click a link and sign themselves up

How to set up the lead submission form

  • Go to the Promote page and click the Lead Submission Form card, then click Manage Submission Form. Alternatively, go to Onboard Referrers → Lead Submission Form in the left sidebar.
  • The submission form builder opens with a drag-and-drop page editor. Use the Form tab to customise the form fields and layout, and the Response tab to configure the thank you message and email notifications.
  • Each referrer automatically gets a unique submission form URL. You can also add a Submit Leads Button block to the Branded Referrer Portal’s Dashboard page so referrers can submit leads directly from the portal.

What the referrer sees

When a referrer visits their unique submission form URL, they see a form where they can enter their friend's details (at minimum: name and email). After submitting, the referrer sees a thank you message and is redirected back to the form to submit another lead. The friend is added to your Leads tab, and any configured email notifications are triggered.
